Le influenze hipster sulla ristorazione, come abbiamo già dimostrato qui, possono essere decisamente nefaste. Va bene essere creativi, innovare e svecchiare concept un po' vetusti. Ma esistono limiti da non oltrepassare.
Questa l'idea alla base di We Want Plates, Vogliamo i piatti, una campagna Twitter che si propone come una crociata contro "il servizio di cibo su pezzi di legno e mattoni, le patatine nelle tazze e i cocktail nei barattoli di marmellata". Cominciata due anni fa, ora ha 120.000 followers e un vero e proprio sito.
Tutti possono inviare gli esempi di impiattamenti più offensivi - per il buongusto, ma forse anche per il palato - che vengono loro propinati nei ristoranti. È poi il curatore Ross McGinnes a decidere se sono abbastanza stupidi, assurdi o semplicemente hipster da essere pubblicati.
